Interest-free commercial energy upgrades across Scotland

Costs & interest-free finance for Scottish commercial energy

How interest-free finance works for commercial solar, batteries and heat pumps — and what to expect from a paid installation quote.

Every commercial property in Scotland is different, so we don't publish fixed price lists. Instead, we arrange a no-obligation survey of your premises — whether that's an office in Edinburgh, a workshop in Dundee, a hotel in the Highlands or a farm shed in Aberdeenshire — and provide a written quote for a paid installation tailored to your roof, your heating demand and how your business uses energy.

Interest-free finance for commercial properties and farms

Interest-free finance is available for commercial properties and farms, up to £30,000, subject to status. This is a commercial finance arrangement arranged as part of your paid installation — and there are no other amounts or rates to consider at this stage. The finance is confirmed as part of your quote once we understand your requirements and circumstances.

Because the finance is interest-up to £30,000 and subject to status, the first step is always a survey. That lets us size the system correctly for your building and confirm what finance is available to your business. There's no obligation to proceed after the survey.

0% VAT on solar panels and batteries

Solar panels and battery storage benefit from a 0% VAT rate until 31 March 2027. Air source heat pumps also benefit from 0% VAT. This reduced rate applies to the installation cost and is reflected in your written quote — you don't need to claim anything back; the lower rate is applied at point of sale.

For Scottish businesses, this means the VAT treatment of commercial solar, batteries and heat pumps is favourable for installations completed before the end of March 2027. We'll make sure your quote shows the correct VAT position for the technologies you're considering.

What a paid installation quote includes

  • A site-specific system design based on your roof, orientation and energy use
  • The recommended technology — solar PV, battery storage, air source heat pump, or a combination
  • Installation by our MCS-certified partner, carried out to recognised industry standards
  • The interest-free finance available to your business, up to £30,000, subject to status
  • The applicable VAT treatment, including 0% VAT on solar panels and batteries until 31 March 2027
  • A clear, written quote with no obligation to proceed

What we don't quote for

We focus on paid installations for businesses and farms only — not homeowners. We don't provide savings figures, payback periods, prices, reviews or case studies. What we do provide is a clear, honest quote for the work, with interest-free finance available up to £30,000 subject to status, and installation through MCS-certified partners.
